Request Special Accreditation Types
Please note that access to the following media facilities will be limited and strictly controlled on race day. Successful applicants will be issued with special accreditation to gain access to these facilities.
Start Line
Only a limited number of 15 photographers and videographers will be allocated access to the start line area, i.e. in front of the elite batch, and will be asked to clear the area shortly before the start of the race. (Other media wanting to cover the start will be allowed access to the start precinct, but not the start line itself. All media are prohibited from entering the seeding batch pens and VIP area.)
Media Truck
Two media trucks will follow the elite race, with one focusing on the men’s race and the other focusing on the women’s race (subject to final confirmation). These trucks will have open, stepped seating for media and will be instructed to stay a short distance in front of the leading men or women. The two trucks can each seat a maximum of 17 people (combined total of 34 media), and seating allocations will be granted at the discretion of the CMA.
Finish Line Access
Access to the finish line (ground level) will be strictly limited to 15 pre-selected top-line photographers, and only for the period of the race when the top 10 men and top 10 women are finishing. Successful applicants will be issued with special accreditation that will allow them to gain access to the finish line shortly before the first runners arrive at the finish, and they will be escorted out of the finish line once the top 10 women have finished the race.
After that, the finish line area will be a strictly no-go zone for all media for the rest of the event, and finishline accreditation will need to be returned to the CMA Media Manager.
Finish Line Photographers’ Gantry
Access to the finish line photographers’ gantry will initially be limited to 30 pre-selected photographers and videographers for the period of the race when the top 10 men and top 10 women are finishing. After that, the gantry will be available to all accredited media on a first come, first served basis, but keeping within the allowed safety limits of the gantry. This application item is therefore just for the time period when the top athletes are finishing.
Media Motorbikes
Please note: No Media Motorbikes Available Due to safety regulations, the number of motorbikes and bicycles allowed on the route is strictly limited, with priority given to technical officials, the official broadcaster, and official photographers, whose motorbikes and bicycles will be issued with official route access accreditation. Unfortunately, the CMA cannot allow any other media access to the route in vehicles, or on motorbikes or bicycles, and media who wish to follow the race in this way will need to use parallel roads to move alongside the route.
