Due to the high demand for Comrades Marathon media accreditation, the Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) has to limit access to media facilities at the event. Priority will be given to applicants based on factors such as size of audience, syndication of content/material, geographic footprint/reach, etc. The number of applicants per platform may also need to be limited.
All successful media applicants will receive general media accreditation, which will allow access to the media centres at the Comrades Marathon Expo and the finish venue, attendance of pre-race press conferences as well as the post-race press conference with top three men and women. Special accreditation will be needed for the press truck, as well as for access to the start line, finish line and finish line photographers’ gantry (specifically when the leading athletes are finishing). Please note that all media accreditation will be issued at the discretion of the Comrades Marathon Association, and access to all media facilities will be strictly controlled on race day.
